i need some advise on getting back into Warhammer 40K?

Ive been outta the game for about 2 maybe 3 years now. i have lost a lot of my stuff but i still have some maybe 15 ork boys, about 25 space marines with random gear and a rhino. i have a whole crap load of chaos marines half painted and a battle box of chaos that hasn’t even been opened. now I got most of this stuff from a friend so Ive never played any of those armies. the only army Ive played is my 6000 point necron army which is missing. So im just not sure where to go from here. especially since there is a new version out

If you’ve already got a load of space marines and orks then why not get the Assault on Black Reach boxed set? That will bulk out these armies for you, as well as giving you all the new 5th Edition rules. It also includes a set of scenarios designed to use the models that come with the boxed set that take you through the new rules in an easy, step-by-step fashion.

I’d suggest putting the Chaos Space Marines to one side for the moment, as regular marines and orks are a great place to learn the rules. Then, once you’re happy and if you still want to play the treacherous dogs of the turncoat Legions, you can dust off your chaos marines and start a new army (sell the old one on eBay to fund new purchases!).
