I was given a 2000 Mustang conv. from brother, I want to sell it, do i need titles in my name before sale?
I’M TOO BIG FOR THE CAR SO I’M SELLING IT FOR 7 GRAND. MY BROTHER IS THE TITLE HOLDER AND HE KNOWS I’M TRYING TO SELL IT AND IS SUPPORTIVE OF ME DOING SO. ITS A BEAUTIFUL CAR BLK/BLK CONVERT W/CHROME CUSTOM DUAL EXHAUST, CHROME SPINNING WHEELS AND MANY OTHER PERFORMANCE UPGRADES. BUT WOULD I NEED THE TITLES IN MY NAME IF MY BROTHER WILL SIGN THE TITLE/BILL OF SALES IF I GET A BUYER? I WOULD LOVE TO KEEP IT BUT I’M 6′2 , 430 POUNDS AND THE CAR IS LIKE A GO-CART TO ME AT THIS SIZE. 832 259 0474 to Sexton. 24/7
I don’t believe it is necessary. But your brother should be the one concerned. Because if the new owner has anything involving that car according to the title it is still his.
In California you can get a form from DMV, stating that the car is sold, and that the new owner took full responsibility for it. Even though he has not bought the hard title yet, cuz’ he still perhaps owes you for the car.This way the seller is protected.
